Margaret has joined the NPD team in a very unique capacity, bringing her extensive medical and surgical training to enhance our paediatric oral surgery and oral medicine services.

Margaret’s journey in dentistry began alongside our very own Rebecca Eggers as a fellow classmate in dental school.

Margaret completed a medical degree then went on to specialise in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This medical and dental specialty focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases affecting the mouth, jawbones, jaw joints, teeth, face and neck.

The conditions commonly managed by Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons in a paediatric setting include a range of oral surgery and pathology.

Besides seeing our patients for removal of wisdom teeth, extra teeth, impacted teeth and pathology, she also collaborates with our specialist paediatric dentists to provide combined surgical and restorative care in a single procedure.

This means that if your child needs both teeth restoration (such as fillings or crowns) and oral surgery, they can have it done under the one procedure rather than two separate day-stays.

To our knowledge, we are the only private practice in Sydney offering this comprehensive care, saving children repeated anaesthetics or a lengthy wait in the public system.

Margaret’s ability to offer consultations in a familiar environment with known and trusted faces provides great comfort to both our parents and young patients, especially those with additional needs.

When Margaret isn’t busy making complex surgical procedures a breeze for kids, she’s dreaming of carving up the slopes on her snowboard or exploring new holiday destinations.
