Welcome to the home of happy, healthy smiles

Dr Margaret Kim

BDS, MBBS, FRACDS (OMFS)
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Margaret brings her extensive medical and surgical training to provide paediatric oral surgery and oral medicine services within the practice. She works closely with our specialist paediatric dentists to offer combined surgical and restorative care in a single procedure, allowing children to receive both tooth restoration (like fillings or crowns) and oral surgery in one visit.

It’s great to meet you.

Hi, I’m Dr Margaret Kim. I specialise in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, which means I manage a variety of oral surgical issues, including wisdom teeth, extra teeth, cysts, and lumps and bumps. At Norwest, I treat my patients under hospital day-stay anaesthesia.

Paediatric oral surgery can be a fun challenge, and I aim to make every visit a positive experience for my patients. One of the best parts of my job is offering teens and young patients the comfort of having their consultations in a familiar environment. Being surrounded by friendly faces they know and trust makes a big difference, especially for patients with additional needs.

My specialty area.

The conditions I commonly manage in a paediatric setting include a range of oral surgical problems including:

  • Wisdom teeth
  • Extra teeth
  • Impacted teeth (teeth stuck in gum tissue or bone)
  • Lumps, bumps, cysts or benign lesions (non-cancerous lumps) that need to be examined or removed under day-stay anaesthesia.

I also collaborate with our specialist paediatric dentists to provide combined surgical and restorative care in a single procedure.

This means that if your child needs both teeth restoration (such as fillings or crowns) and oral surgery, they can have it done under the one procedure rather than two separate day-stays.

To our knowledge, we are the only private practice in Sydney offering this comprehensive care, saving children repeated anaesthetics or a lengthy wait in the public system.

My dental background.

I completed my dental and medical degrees then went on to specialise in oral and maxillofacial surgery. This specialty focuses on diagnosing and treating diseases affecting the mouth, jawbones, jaw joints, teeth, face and neck.

When I’m not at the clinic, you can find me…

When I’m not busy in the clinic or operating room, you’ll find me carving up the slopes on my snowboard or exploring new holiday destinations.
