Hi, I’m Dr Nicole Olivera. Ever since my own positive dental experiences as a child, I knew I wanted to help other children feel safe, supported and excited about coming to the dentist.
For me, one of the best parts of my role is creating fun and reassuring experiences that make each child feel proud of their progress. By creating positive memories early on, I hope to set them up for good oral health habits as well as calm and happy future trips to the dentist.
I enjoy the full spectrum of paediatric dentistry – but I have a particular interest in caring for children with additional needs and those with complex medical conditions.
I understand the extra challenges they and their families face and I know how much of a difference thoughtful, consistent support can make to their confidence and overall wellbeing.
I completed a Bachelor of Medical Science in 2014 and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2019. I’ve undertaken the Primary Examinations of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS), and I completed my Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Sydney.
Alongside my training, I’ve worked at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, where I’ve managed on-call duties and cared for children with complex needs. Earlier in my career, I gained valuable experience in private general practice and as a clinical educator at the University of Sydney, which strengthened my communication and mentoring skills.
I love being outdoors – whether it’s wandering on long nature walks, playing sport, or chasing after my two energetic chihuahuas!
